Entrepreneurs and employers:

Can I get a payment extension on TyEL and YEL payments?

Veritas may, upon request, extend the payment period of TyEL and YEL payments.

TyEL payments:

  • the payment period may, upon request, be extended until the end of the fifth month following the month when the salary is paid
  • if the invoice falls due, for example, on 31 May 2020, the payment period can be extended until 30 September 2020
  • this possibility applies to contributions for salaries that are paid between February and May
  • only the current  insurance contribution interest of 2% is included in the payment
  • no penalty interest will be charged

YEL payments:

  • the payment period may, upon request, be extended by three months
  • if the invoice falls due, for example, on 20 March 2020, the payment period can be extended until 20 June 2020
  • this possibility applies to invoices falling due between 20 March and 30 June 2020

In addition to these measures, we will postpone sending payment reminders and starting debt recovery actions in the difficulties caused by the corona virus outbreak.

You can easily check your payments in the VerNet online service. You can also contact your own insurance advisor via VerNet.

In case you experience difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact your contact person at Veritas. You can discuss your situation confidentially with us.

What if I get ill or placed in quarantine?

The YEL insurance is the basis of the self-employed person’s social security and provides basic coverage if you get ill or placed in quarantine by a doctor. The amount of your sickness allowance is determined by the YEL income confirmed in your YEL insurance.

If you are placed in quarantine, Kela can pay a sickness allowance on account of an infectious disease. The amount of the allowance is also determined by the YEL income.
